Washing a vegetable and then using it is the right method of treating any vegetable. Roots and even other veggies have some locked in dirt that has to be cleaned. Moreover, when you wash a vegetable before cleaning it you are washing off all the nutrients and vitamins in running water! What is the use of eating such a dish?
So make a habit to eat lots of veggies only after washing them.
